Wayne, Software Engineer at BrioHR
I hated programming when I first got to know C programming (a programming language) back in my college days. I try to understand it. It took me a long time and my passion for programming sparked when I participated in a robotics competition organized by my college. Robotics is something I’ve admired since young and building scalable software from scratch always fascinates me. Out of competitiveness, the team burnt lots of midnight oil to ensure the program and robot worked well. But somehow the program failed.
Since then, I began to see the importance of coding and how it impacts our daily lives and shapes the world. Our next-generation should value the beauty of coding. I want to encourage them to be passionate about STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Don’t be afraid of it. So I decided to volunteer myself to teach coding in a secondary school. Learning to code shouldn’t be boring, it should be fun and exciting just like the robotic competition.
Wayne is currently a Software Engineer in BrioHR. He enjoys a cup of hot americano during the rainy days and is passionate about teaching the next-generation about robotics and arduino – an open-source electronic prototyping platform enabling users to create interactive electronic objects.
